Project Challenge

AGL Loy Yang Pty. Ltd required two of their overburden stackers to be moved from an external overburden dump (TS4) into the mine. This work will allow future overburden to be relocated to already worked out areas of the mine. Major work for the project included new conveyer systems in order to service the stacker.

RTL's Approach

RTL was awarded the contract to build the foundations for the new conveyors and complete all other associated civil works. Crushed rock foundations are normally used for the conveyors on the site. However, for this project the conveyors needed to be moved downhill, this required concrete foundations.

Project Outcomes

1. 4,500m3 of reinforced concrete
2. 1,350lm of conveyor footings
3. 2,700lm of adjacent access road constructed
4. 1,500lm of drainage line installed
