Project Challenge
RTL Transport were engaged to transport an oversized major component for one of the AGL Loy Yang Dredger’s as part of a major outage. The item transported was the bucket wheel from one of the mine dredgers. The dimensions of the constructed bucket wheel posed a number of challenges throughout the planning stage that seen the transport business work collaboratives with with a number of Government departments and our Client.
RTL's Approach
The planning and execution of this project involved extensive risk assessments as part of the route planning and permit process. The Transport team appointed a Transport function supervisor who’s responsibility was to co-ordinate and control the move whilst working very closely with VicRoads officers.

Successful collaboration between multiple government bodies
Delivery timeframe meet ensuring that the outage program remained on track
Transport completed without incident
Successful issue of NHVR permitts
