Project Challenge
RTL’s team was engaged for the remediation work for the Morwell Drain. The drain was a serious safety concern due to it being situated between the Princes Freeway and the Morwell Open Cut Mine.
RTL's Approach
RTL was able to mobilise and execute the drain works adjacent to an operating highway and open pit mine.
Project Outcomes
1. The project included all drainage construction and service relocation for the drain footprint.
2. The works were successfully completed before winter in 2013.
3. The remediation works included lining 1,800m of drain with a combination of clay and impervious liners.
