Project Challenge
RTL’s project involved works undertaken on the operational airfield without interruption to services or base operations.
RTL's Approach
RTL successfully delivered around existing base operations including restrictions on operating hours and machine noise to facilitate regular graduation ceremonies held on site.
Project Outcomes
1. RTL works included the construction of building pads for 11 new or redeveloped facilities at the base including the Control Tower, Indoor Gym/Pool, Chapel, Training Facilities, Commercial Facilities and several flight line buildings responsible for the operation and maintenance of the base and its aircraft.
2. RTL works included the construction car parks, driveways, footpaths and other sealed pavements to provide amenity to these buildings and the general surrounds of the base. Included in this were all pavement works, kerb & channel, road furniture and line marking.
3. RTL works included site wide pit and pipe stormwater systems.
4. RTL works included demolition and removal of redundant stormwater infrastructure including 2 triple interceptor units.
5. RTL works included maintenance of the on-site borrow pit accessed by all subcontractors.
