Project completed by RTL in Northern Territory

Project Challenge

RTL’s team is to construct a haul road section which includes a culvert creek crossing that is a preliminary works package for the final and larger Rum Jungle Rehabilitation works prior to the start of the wet 2023-2024 tropical wet season.

RTL's Approach

RTL successfully delivered works at the Rum Jungle Mine Site for the Northern Territory Government. RTL was been able to mobilise people (local indigenous and experienced interstate workforce) and plant for this specific project as well as retaining dedicated plant in the Northern Territory for future works.

Project Outcomes

1. Works completed on short notice prior to the tropical wet season which exceeded the agreed schedule and clients expectations.

2. Exceeded Aboriginal Participation Plan as tendered at 25% with an actual Aboriginal Participation of 44.8% that included the Kungarakan and Warai people.

3. RTL team was successfully able to facilitate 4 trainees to complete their accreditation to operate articulated dump trucks.

4. RTL gave back to the local indigenous community 24% of the Project’s expenditure to Aboriginal Business Enterprise’s which was in excess of the 5% expectation set by the client at the time of tender.
